Attorney at Law
Liliana Y. Gomez
was born in Cuba and immigrated to the United States at the age of nine. Navigating the immigration system alongside her parents at a young age profoundly shaped her perspective and inspired her lifelong commitment to defending immigrant communities.
She earned her Bachelor of Science in Criminology, with a minor in Psychology, from Florida State University (FSU), graduating cum laude. During her undergraduate studies, she interned with the Department of Juvenile Justice, an experience that strengthened her dedication to the legal profession and to serving vulnerable populations.
Ms. Gomez later obtained her Juris Doctor from Florida International University College of Law (FIU). While in law school, she participated in the prestigious Immigration and Human Rights Clinic under the supervision of Attorney Juan Gómez. There, she represented detained individuals in removal proceedings and developed extensive knowledge of the complexities of U.S. immigration law. She also completed advanced coursework in trial advocacy and litigation, further refining her courtroom skills.
Beginning in her third year of law school, Ms. Gomez joined an immigration law firm where she practiced for nearly a decade. Over the course of ten years, she built a strong reputation for her litigation skills and strategic advocacy in complex immigration matters. In 2025, she founded her own practice, which later expanded through her partnership with Attorney Deliane Quiles to form Gomez Quiles Law.
Throughout her career, Ms. Gomez has represented clients in hundreds of immigration court hearings nationwide. Her experience includes:
- Motions to reopen before Immigration Courts and the Board of Immigration Appeals (BIA)
- Appeals before the BIA
- Petitions for Review before the United States Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit
- Federal habeas corpus petitions before U.S. District Courts
- Family-based petitions and adjustment of status
- VAWA petitions and U visas
- Naturalization applications
- Waiver applications before USCIS
She is admitted to practice before multiple federal courts and appellate courts, reflecting the depth and scope of her litigation practice.
Fluent in English and Spanish, Ms. Gomez is known for providing compassionate yet strategic legal representation. As an immigrant herself, she understands firsthand the emotional and legal challenges her clients face and is committed to guiding them through every stage of their case with strength and clarity.
